Privacy Policy

Ouate measures the moment you fall asleep to stop the audio and rank sessions by real effectiveness. That measurement stays on your phone; only an anonymized duration feeds the collective statistics.

The app reads your phone's accelerometer (motion sensors) and the absence of screen interaction to estimate when you fall asleep. The microphone is never used: the app doesn't even request that permission.

No raw sensor data ever leaves the device. What is kept locally: the listening start time, the estimated position of sleep onset within the session, and a detection confidence score.

You can turn detection off at any time in the settings, and erase the local journal in one gesture.

When a night is measured with enough confidence, a single piece of information reaches our servers: the time-to-sleep on a given session, attached to your account for your own history, and aggregated anonymously into the public session statistics ("puts people to sleep in 11 minutes, median").

No one — not creators, not other users, not our team in its everyday work — can view the nights of an identified person. Public statistics only appear once 20 nights have been aggregated.

Creating an account requires an email address, or an Apple ID. We store: your email, your saved sessions, the voices you follow, your listening history and your journal of nights.

A purchase made without an account creates an anonymous technical identity — no email, no personal data — to which the subscription and the journal of nights are attached. You can add an email at any time to turn it into a full account.

The subscription is handled by the App Store or Google Play: we never see your banking details. We only receive the subscription state (active, expired) through our provider RevenueCat.

Account data is hosted by Supabase (European Union region — Stockholm). Audio files are served by Cloudflare. Subscription validation goes through RevenueCat.

We sell no data. There are no ads in Ouate, hence no advertising trackers.

Under the GDPR, you can access your data, correct it, export it, or have it deleted. Account deletion happens directly in the app (Settings → "Delete my account"): it erases your personal data from our servers. Contributions already anonymized into collective statistics are, by nature, no longer attributable to you.
